Privacy Policy

Gulpo for iPhone. Last updated September 4, 2026.

The short version. Gulpo has no account and no server. What you drink stays on your iPhone. We do not collect, sell, or share personal data, and we do not use analytics or advertising. The only times data leaves your device are the ones you turn on yourself, and they go to Apple, not to us.

What Gulpo stores

Gulpo keeps your drink log, your goal, your bottle and routines, and your settings in the app’s own storage on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to WapleStuff. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Apple Health

If you connect Apple Health, Gulpo reads your weight, date of birth, sex, and your workouts and sleep so your daily goal fits your body and your hours. Gulpo writes the water you log back to Health so other apps can see it. Health data is read on your device, is never uploaded anywhere by Gulpo, and is not used for any purpose other than calculating your goal and your pace. You can change or revoke this access at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.

Location and weather

If you turn on weather‑aware goals, Gulpo asks for your location while the app is in use, and uses it only to fetch the day’s temperature and humidity from Apple Weather. Your location is not stored by Gulpo and is not sent to WapleStuff. Apple’s handling of that request is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Turn it off any time in Settings.

Microphone and speech

When you say what you drank, Gulpo listens through the microphone and uses Apple’s speech recognition to turn your words into text. Depending on your device and language, Apple may process that audio on its servers; Gulpo never receives, stores, or transmits the recording. The text is then turned into a drink entry by the on‑device Foundation Model. Nothing about what you said leaves your iPhone.

Camera and photos

When you photograph a drink, the image is analyzed on your iPhone by the on‑device Foundation Model to prefill the entry. Gulpo does not upload the photo and does not keep it after the entry is created unless you save it yourself.

Siri and Shortcuts

Drinks you log or look up through Siri are handled by iOS on your device. Gulpo receives only the request Siri hands it, such as the drink and the amount, and writes the result to your local log.

iCloud backup

iCloud backup is off until you turn it on. When on, a copy of your log and settings is kept in your own private iCloud database so it is there when you reinstall Gulpo or move to a new iPhone. That copy lives on Apple’s servers, is tied to your Apple Account, and is not accessible to WapleStuff. Turning it off stops further copies; you can delete existing iCloud data from Settings › Apple Account › iCloud.

Reserve purchases

Reserve is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment and never shares your card details with us. To check whether a purchase is active, Gulpo uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives your App Store receipt and a random identifier that Gulpo generates for your install. It does not receive your name, email, or anything you log. RevenueCat’s handling of that data is described in its privacy policy.

Notifications

Reminders and Live Activities are scheduled on your device. Gulpo does not use push notifications from a server.

What we do not do

Children

Gulpo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because Gulpo does not collect personal data at all, there is nothing to request or delete from us.

Your choices

Every permission above is optional and can be changed in the iPhone Settings app. Deleting Gulpo removes all local data. Data written to Apple Health or iCloud is under your control in those Apple services.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
